“U.S. Income Inequality Has Skyrocketed and Biden Wants to Do Something About It”

You are invited to the Contemporary Issues Forum Zoom meeting on Wednesday, May 19 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Ben Senauer, a USSB member since 2016, will present the topic. The videos and presentation will be followed by a Q & A.

Using videos, an overview of the dramatic rise in American income inequality over the past several decades will be examined. We will also look at the highly skewed distribution of wealth in this country. Ben will then review the key policy proposals of President Biden that would have a marked impact on reducing income inequality.

The American Families Plan, now before Congress, would fund social and education programs with tax increases on those with higher incomes. The American Jobs Plan and Made in America Tax Plan not only funds infrastructure, but also increases corporate taxes.
