Drumming Circle
The USSB Drumming Group is entering its fourth year. We meet on Thursdays in the Sanctuary at 1:00 PM for one hour. New members are always welcome to join. Bring your own djembe or play one of the drums donated by generous members of the congregation. John Altman facilitates practice and jam sessions. We draw respectfully on West African, Afro-Cuban and Brazilian drumming traditions. We view drumming as a spiritual practice, as it is in the cultural traditions which inspire us. Our best moments come during extended “drum circle” improvisations which lift our spirits and foster close connections among us.
