In her book, On the Inconvenience of Other People, scholar and cultural theorist Lauren Berlant said, “We cannot know each other without being inconvenient to each other.” At the same time, Berlant points to the exhaustion of modern life and our desire to live a life of ease. What does embracing inconvenience offer us, as we let go of “easy” and search for a life of meaning and purpose instead?
