The Risk of Resurrection: Easter Sunday with Rev. Julia Hamilton
With all that is going on in the world, it is easy to let cynicism take root. But this is the season of spring, of rebirth and renewal, and the story of Easter challenges us to take a longer view: What does it mean to risk believing that a better way is possible? What does it mean to risk the idea of resurrection?

A Sanctuary for the Spirit of the Community with Rev. Julia Hamilton
This Sunday is the rededication of the fully restored stained-glass windows in our Sanctuary, including the renamed Francis Ellen Watkins Harper window. As we imagine what it means for our campus to be a sanctuary for the well-being of our community, and begin renovation on the buildings on lower campus, what names will we use for the spaces where we gather? Why do names matter?

The Blessing of the Animals with Rev. Julia Hamilton
Sometimes the relationships nearest to our heart are with the animal companions that we come to know and love. Bring your animal friends to services this Sunday – on a leash, in a carrier, or bring a photo/token in their place, or a memento for pets who are no longer with us. Together, we will bless them, with gratitude for love and joy they bring into our lives. Note: you don’t have to have an animal chaperone to participate – there will be a “humans only” section, too!

Grounded: An Earth Day Dirt Communion with Whitney Rubison & Deborah Karoff
We celebrate Earth Day by remembering our most fundamental relationship: our kinship with soil. In a dirt communion ritual, we gather earth from the places that ground us and plant together for the butterflies – both the pollinators who need habitat and the monarchs who witness our commitment to sanctuary for all beings. Bring a small container of soil from your garden, a meaningful place, or somewhere you find peace.
