Meditation on Trash with Alex Overbey & Eileen Bunning
Join us for a meditation on trash and what happens after it leaves the bin. Staff from Public Works Resource Recovery & Waste Management will share firsthand insights into where our waste goes and how it is managed. This service offers education and reflection rooted in Unitarian values of interdependence and care for our shared planet.

July 12th
TBA with Imam Wael Hegazy
Imam Wael Hegazy of the Islamic Society Goleta Mosque is also an Arabic Language Lecturer at the Religious Studies Department. He obtained his Ph.D. from the Religious studies department at UCSB and his Masters from Al-Azhar University in Egypt. His studies focus on Islamic and Arabic studies with a special focus on Digital Islam, virtual Ummah, and Online Muslim communities in the US.

July 19th

Chloe Koren is a rabbinical student at Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion. She is also the wife of the Senior Minister at the First Unitarian Church in Albuquerque. An ICU Registered Nurse, Chloe was a Jewish Ideas Fellow at Hebrew Union College, served on the board at Congregation Albert in Albuquerque, NM, and is a current Weitzman-JDC (American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee) Fellow.

AJ Joven is the Associate Director of Movement Building at the California Immigrant Policy Center. The CIPC upholds the humanity of immigrant communities in CA by transforming systems to achieve racial, social, and economic justice. They provide campaign and narrative support, capacity building, technical assistance, training and education onimmigrant issues.
